I still haven't beaten that character yet. You'll never know who shows their butt-ugly face again, Guildenstern.gah, that freakish Demon is back after a long time! To make matters worse he brought, or should I say made, a new "toy".īrainstern is one nasty peice of fires relentless rounds of bullets at Samanosuke right in the start! Then it attacks with super charged attacks and missels. As well as using Jacques to use his handgun firing at the many Demons. It flows out pretty smoothly, after the main samurai hero is in France and is battling the Demon horde that have attacked the humans. The character Jacques Blanc from modern day France that you play as a co-op mode along side Samonosuke, that idea was cool, but didn't he look oddly familiar? Like the American-French actor who played as the "cop" in Godzilla perhaps? I'm talking about Jean Reno, doesn't Jacques look identical? I thought that was interesting, odd though. I have to say that I didn't like it too much, with the story jumping into a very strange direction. The game starts off at a fair difficulty level, what threw me off for a loop was when Samonosuke gets transported into THE FUTURE IN PARIS, FRA NCE!?! O_o That was a shocker, since the game normally takes place in the Sengoku Jidai of Japan. Onimusha 3: As the game begins you start right off the bat by being hurled into the middle of combat! An exciting way to start the game off! You gradually during the fights learn the basic controls: movement, blocking, using your sword, shooting the arrows with your bow and the Demon Gauntlet which absorbs the souls of Demons (and when the right number is reached Samanosuke transforms into Onimusha)! I've always liked the highly detailed graphics, and more importantly, the unique and original storyline and character concepts. I've been a long time Onimusha fan ever since I picked up the first one that came out for Playstation 1 several years ago. Onimusha 3 Demon Siege -Review by seishomori With its ability to latch on to objects, players can use the whip to swing across various platforms and access new areas. A whip weapon, unique to the Jacques Braun character, is handy for combat situations as well as exploration. Powerful swords, capable of destroying enemies with one blow, are available, along with new weapons that add additional challenges.

New environments have been added, including Paris landmarks such as Notre Dame and the Arc De Triumph, though also included are familiar backdrops such as Anshi Castle and Honnoji Temple. For the first time, fully 3D backgrounds are featured, and dynamic camera angles add a sense of depth during battle scenes. The question now stands, why has Samanosuke appeared in present day France, and Jacques in Feudal Japan?Īs players attempt to make sense of this strange scenario in the beginning of the game, many advancements and new technologies may also come to their attention. The two begin slaying demons together, until Jacques is suddenly caught in a mysterious vortex, eerily familiar to Samanosuke, and is transported to feudal Japan, leaving behind Samanosuke in modern-day France. Then, in the distance, an ancient samurai warrior inexplicably appears, to help fight off the demons and save the city. Deployed to this scene of carnage, Jacques quickly finds himself surrounded by hellish enemies. From out of this fury appears a French soldier who stands up against the Genma demons, Jacques Braun (Jean Reno). Unleashing an unimaginable horror, the Genma demons go on to slaughter civilians and soldiers, one by one. An otherwise peaceful French metropolis finds itself under attack by demons. However, before this epic clash can begin, Samanosuke suddenly disappears. Samanosuke continues to battle the demons in his path until the moment finally comes when standing before him, ready for battle, is the undead Warlord Nobunaga Oda. Joining him is renowned French actor Jean Reno, best known for his roles in The Professional, Big Blue, and La Femme Nikita. Reprising his voice-acting role as the lovelorn samurai Samanosuke Akechi is Takeshi Kianeshiro.
